This ongoing series of drawings began after Pien had learned that Jonathan Borofsky chronologically numbers each one of his art of nearly three million. Amazed, Pien wondered how many pieces of work he would have to make in the next forty years in order to reach the same number. A quick calculation revealed that he would have to work continuously in 10¼-hour sessions and produce 208 drawings daily. Furthermore, each drawing would have to be completed within a 3-minute time period. Since 1994, Pien have engaged in many of these drawing sessions. With only minutes to spare, there was really no time to think; the images just had to come out very spontaneously. Through this trance-like process, the artist was able to make visible, ideas and images that are harboring in his mind. Many of these drawings have since been incorporated into large-scale drawings and installations.
