Info
Haven is a large-scale installation in which a video image is projected on and through layers of large cut-paper structures producing dynamic shadows.

Simultaneously an image from an overhead projector spreads across the space while another video projector casts part of the actual installation space from a surveillance camera, in real time, over another section of the installation. The play with these overlapping and cross-canceling projections and cast shadows complicates the reading of the installation and space, resulting in effects that are disorientating and provocative. Privileged notions of home, sanctuary, and belonging lead to the contemplation of the opposite – without a home (land): homelessness, and the plight of the refuges. Bellevue Arts Museum, WA 2007.
